Tamie Hollon has been dedicated to education for over 24 years, serving multilingual learners and their teachers with passion and vision. She has taught across all grade levels, K–12, creating inclusive and engaging classrooms with high expectations so that all students thrive. Her school leadership experience includes seven years as an Assistant Principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, where she championed instructional excellence and student-centered school cultures.
Currently, Tamie serves as the Director of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) for Harrison School District 2 in Colorado Springs, where she leads innovative programs that highlight the strengths of multilingual learners and ensure best practices are implemented districtwide. Her focus on building strong learning communities via systematic program implementation and relationship-building has advanced D2’s CLDE Department in several key areas, including Newcomer Support, the Seal of Biliteracy, the “Every Teacher is a Language Teacher” initiative, and Translanguaging.
Tamie is committed to the beliefs that “students are the why” and that empowering teachers as experts is essential to building diverse, asset-based learning communities where every student benefits.
