About me
I have been teaching adult ESOL since 1999, when I left a 15-year career in community recycling to go to China for a month and teach English. I was hooked and have not looked back. My only regret is that I didn't discover teaching English to adults earlier in my life!
I love being part of CoTESOL. We are an organization that brings something for everyone, whether you are a teacher, a volunteer, an administrator, or policy-maker.
As one of your Adult Education SIG Co-Chairs, it has been a pleasure to bring in adult ESOL authors (Betsy Parrish, 2023), timely topics ("Innovations in Vocational Transitions for Immigrants and Refugees" in 2024), and researchers in adult ESOL (Kale Hubert in 2025). Together with your other Adult Ed SIG Co-Chair, Amber Pleasant, our goal is to bring you enriching presentations that will further the development of adult ESOL teaching and programs in Colorado.
